LWA YOUNG WINDSURFER OF THE YEAR:
Every year, thanks to the generosity of one of our windsurfing friends (who prefers to remain anonymous) the LWA Committee chooses one of the young sailors who have participated in the LWA Events to be awarded a £100 cheque in recognition of their windsurfing achievements, with the intention of encouraging them to further success. Past winners have included such names as Bryony Shaw, the UK Ladies Windsurfing Bronze Medallist at the Beijing Olympics, Keith Atkinson, winner of many Formula titles both National and International, and Dan Simpson, who blazed a trail across the World Formula Youth rankings. So there is a great deal to live up to. In 2009 there were two outstanding candidates, Conor Wells and Andrew Robinson, so they share the £100 prize and both become LWA Young Windsurfers of the Year and they will appear on the LWA Racing Calendar poster for 2010. Our congratulations to both of them and we wish them a successful and enjoyable year’s windsurfing in 2010.
