LWA YOUNG WINDSURFER OF THE YEAR:
 Every year, thanks to the generosity of one of our windsurfing friends (who prefers to remain anonymous) the LWA Committee chooses one of the young sailors who have participated in the LWA Events to be awarded a cheque in recognition of their windsurfing achievements, with the intention of encouraging them to further success. Past winners have included such names as Bryony Shaw, the UK Ladies Windsurfing Bronze Medallist at the Beijing Olympics, Keith Atkinson, winner of many Formula titles both National and International, and Dan Simpson, who blazed a trail across the World Formula Youth rankings. So there is a great deal to live up to.
In 2011 the winner was Galahad Wisbey and the award is now worth £200 in total, however Galahad was awarded a cheque for £150 and Matt Barton received £50. Galahad will appear on the LWA Racing Calendar poster for 2012. Our congratulations to both of them and we wish them a successful and enjoyable year’s windsurfing in 2012.
