UKWA Inlands Farmoor Sat/Sun June 10/11 2007

Whilst we had a good turnout of 80 sailors, the wind was disappointing and whilst the Team 15 sailors enjoyed themselves o the Saturday the rest of us simply sunbathed and hoped that Sunday would bring an improvement.
This meant of course that the LWA one-day event scheduled for the Saturday was in fact cancelled.
Sunday dawned misty but there was some wind at last. Race Officer James Palin dragged himself out of bed and had us on the water early. We managed three races in the morning and then the wind disappeared for several hours. The day was about to be abandoned around 3.30 ish when surprise, surprise the wind decided to come back again and we had two more races.
On the main course Race One saw Rod Davis get first round the mark and held his position until lap three when Bob Ingram crept past him. An incident on the windward mark resulted in a protest from Tim Gibson, Rod crossed the line in second place but had forgotten to take his tally so the protest was unnecessary.! Let that be a lesson to you, boys and girls. This brought Dave Gilchrist up to 2nd place ahead of Tim with Adrian Rippington in 4th. Alan Jackson got his act together in Race 2 and powered his way to the front, finishing ahead of Tim and Bob. Race 3 found local boy Andy Lacy in good form and he managed to hold on to 2nd place behind Tim, pushing Bob in to 3rd.
Bob and Tim shared the honours in the last two races, with one win apiece, giving Tim the overall and Unlimited victory by the narrow margin of one single point. Alan Jackson was 3rd and Dave Gilchrist 4th (and 1st 9.5) ahead of Adrian Rippington and Andy Lacy.
In the RSX Fleet Jacob Brubert was totally dominant, taking first place in every race ahead of Andrew Petts who carded all 2nds with the exception of his discard. James Davenport was 3 points adrift in3rd place. Kirsten O'Callaghan was 1st lady with a 4th overall in the RSX fleet, ahead of Ashley Barratt who was the one and only U17 RSX.
In the Technos Ali Masters (7.8 Junior) won all his races except one and finished ahead of Sophie Bailey and Ryan Tilbury. Sam Sills was 1st 6.8 in 2nd place overall, ahead of Mathew Brown and Kieran Martin. Conor Bainbridge was 1st 7.8 U15.
