The results sheet showing 46 sailors who have participated during the season so far reveals swathes of DNEs and only 11 sailors who have completed at least 4 out of 5 events and so do not have to carry a discard. PLEASE do some serious arm twisting - there are LWA competitors out there who just have to be dragged along and another 10 regulars would transform the whole scene. Two more events to go, - the 2 Day UKWA Inlands at Oxford on 12/13 Sep and then King George on 17 October - both at excellent venues! Andy Lacy is currently topping the Hit Parade, himself, Chris Gibson and Nick Kidd being separated by a mere 3 points, however when the Kents return from their Club Vass holiday Rob and Annette will be doing their damndest to redress the balance. With only four points from three events Rob could afford to come 9th in our next event and still take the lead. Annette with 15 points from 3 events should certainly get back into the top half dozen. If he makes the next two events - and thereby gains a second discard - Conor Wells should be breathing down the neck of Andrew Robinson. Between now and the next LWA event in September we have the World Youth and Masters Raceboard/World Techno 293 Championships at Weymouth from 22 to 29 August and the LWA will have a strong representation. It will be interesting to see how our guys stack up against the best of the continentals - the front end of the regular internationals is blindingly fast, so the new Phantoms, the Fanatic and the Tushingham XR: Race and of course the Demons will be out there battling away.
